Report

As part of my Master's degree in UX/UI, I had the opportunity to write a thesis. It focused on "How to design and improve a product in the pre-product-market fit phase when resources for user access are limited?" or, more simply, "How to design a project from the very beginning without user access?". This thesis was developed during a shift in focus for Medical Place towards healthcare professionals. The specific objective was to design a service that facilitates the establishment of healthcare professionals in their practices by highlighting areas with limited access to healthcare.

Interviews with UX/UI designers in the medical field

After extensive research (market research, attempts to contact healthcare professionals, etc.), I contacted UX/UI designers specializing in healthcare (via LinkedIn). Several people generously gave me their time. I would particularly like to thank Neha Prasad, Baptiste Bertschy, Usfa Shahid, and Bertrand Cochet. They helped me gain valuable perspective on my work, offered many tips, and provided invaluable advice, which allowed my thesis to progress.

The role of UX/UI

A digression was necessary within this project. My Product Owner felt I didn't really belong there. So I did some research and realized... he was right. UX in startups is integrated at two points: pre-product-market fit (meaning there's a UX research phase before everything else), or post-product-market fit (about two or three years after a product launch, when it starts to be profitable). The first scenario is the more cautious, because integration after product-market fit involves corrections, and some of the target audience (customers) has already been lost. In my case, I came in between these two stages, and it wasn't financially viable.

To offer a practical solution to healthcare professionals wishing to set up their own practices, a wireframe has been proposed, incorporating a significant element of guidance. All the necessary links for each section are detailed in my full thesis. Here
